Pollinator and Wildlife Habitats

CARCD’s Pollinator and Wildlife Habitat program is playing a key role in meeting California’s biodiversity and climate goals. By providing pass-through funding and enabling collaboration and resource sharing among RCDs, we are enabling RCDs across California to implement projects that create, enhance, and protect habitat for pollinators, fish, tortoises, birds, and other wildlife and sequester carbon to fight climate change. Examples of our current work include the following:

- Through a block grant from the Wildlife Conservation Board, 42 RCDs across the state and 5 partners are implementing pollinator and wildlife habitat projects, carbon farm plan implementation, and native seed supply amplification efforts.

- With pass-through funding from the US Forest Service – International Programs and the Department of Defense, RCDs are restoring pollinator habitat on and around five military installations in California.
